Sucker Punch Flick Was Awesome

Warner Bros. Films released their new action/fantasy/drama film branded “Sucker Punch” into movie theaters this past weekend. I checked it out,and believed it was really excellent. It brought some totally awesome action scenes.

However, their story wasn’t for the simple-minded because it displayed numerous levels of weirdness, especially around the finish. I will say one thing, though,it was extremely one of a kind. The motion picture stars: Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm, Oscar Isaac, and Scott Glenn.

It centered around a female named Baby Doll who’s been locked away in an asylum of some sort, but this film doesn’t show much asylum footage because it rapidly takes us in to the imaginary world of Baby Doll’s mind, which featured not one,but 2 different imaginary tales.

The very first one has Baby Doll in some kind of gentlemen’s club where she and other gals are required to dance for and entertain men against their will. Baby Doll was afraid when she first showed up there, but eventually met 4 new female pals named Sweat Pea,Rocket,Blondie, and Amber.

As the plot continued along, Baby Doll is asked to dance in order to continue to stay there. However, she’s really shy. In order to get away from her shyness, she drifts into an imaginary world where she’s like a warrior goddess and trumps dragons, large warrior robots, and all kinds of other strange stuff. When she returns out of that dream state, she’s apparently completed an excellent dance that everyone loves.

She ultimately comes up with a strategy of escape with her 4 new friends that involves finding four unique items. She reveals that she’ll use her newly acquired dancing expertise to help the young women get the items. She continuously keeps going in and out of her imaginary warrior goddess world, and also brings her pals into it with her. The warrior world was extremely cool. It displayed the females taking out numerous soldiers, fighting, blowing up stuff, and just a lot of other cool action scenes. It was very entertaining.

Things got bumpy after they got the first 2 items. So rough,in fact, that it led to a couple of deaths and one really strange ending. I’ll just say that Baby Doll was totally out of it at the end. Despite the really odd plotline, I believed the flick was cool to watch, particularly the action scenes. I sort of wished the flick had just been about the action as the scenes were actually fun to watch.

Vanessa Hudgens performed some great scenes that could have you thinking she could possibly be an action-film star. Really, all the young women did,but Vanessa is one of the much more notable actresses from the bunch. I gave the motion picture an A grade.
